Position Summary:

This recruitment is for Temporary Cook positions through UCI’s internal temporary staffing service (TES). Position is located on the UC Irvine campus in Irvine and is full-time. Day & night shifts available.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Preparation of food and cooking according to daily specifications
• Prepare and cook short order foods
• Measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes, using variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blenders, mixers, grinders, etc.
• May butcher chickens, fish, and shellfish
• Bake bread, rolls, cakes, and pastries
• Assist with catering and special events
• Stocking and replenishing inventory for assigned station
• Clean and maintain assigned areas

Compensation Range: $20.66/hr.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of cooking and food preparation
• Knowledge of safe food handling guidelines
• Experience operating kitchen equipment
• Ability to speak, write, and understand English
