Position Summary:

The Law School's Development and External Relations office is responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of the school’s relationship with donors, alumni and other supporters. We prioritize both successful fundraising and engagement outcomes with our external constituencies, all for the benefit of students, faculty and the broader UCI Law community.
 
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Development, the Development Coordinator is responsible for a variety of duties in support of UCI Law initiatives, and will provide executive-level administrative support, while simultaneously assisting with a broad scope of fundraising activities within the school. This position will oversee a diverse portfolio of administrative, budget, donor stewardship and engagement responsibilities, including general office management, gift processing, gift acknowledgement, prospect research and student staff management.

Required:
 
1-2 years of experience with office administrative management, preferably in a development setting.
Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Must possess a valid California Driver License and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
Experience with electronic communication and database systems. Ability to work with highly confidential information with absolute discretion. Communicates in a diplomatic and professional manner at all hierarchical levels. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with Development colleagues, faculty and staff to achieve defined goals. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams). Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, as well an extreme attention to detail. Easily manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop reports, proposals, letters and other external relations materials. Ability to learn financial processing system and remain up-to-date on all policies and procedures. Good written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the campus and with external constituencies.
 
Preferred:
 
May be required to drive on occasion to perform the routine or essential job responsibilities for this position.
Working knowledge of UCI policies, procedures and systems including Kuali Financial System (KFS). Familiarity with Salesforce or other donor CRM platforms. Experience working with Photoshop, InDesign, Canva or other graphics programs. Working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations and public relations concepts, principles, procedures and techniques.
 
Special Conditions Required:
 
May work occasional evenings and weekends.
