Position Summary:
 
The UCI School of Education is focused on advancing educational sciences and contributing to improved educational opportunities and outcomes for individuals across the entire lifespan. A diverse, dynamic and collaborative institution, the School of Education’s research, community partnerships and programming are dedicated to producing innovative scholarship, addressing the needs of local schools, and inspiring future generations of educators. The UC-CSU Environmental and Climate Change Literacy Projects is focused on advancing PK-12 climate and environmental literacy, justice, and action through an innovate partnership between the UC_CSU systems.
 
As a recognized subject matter expert, applies comprehensive knowledge of professional concepts and industry practices to support the work of the CSU-UC Initiative for PK-12 Climate Change Literacy and Environmental Justice. Works on this initiative requiring an in-depth evaluation and understanding of organizational strategies and business objectives and expertise in the field. Serves on executive committee and enacts strategic plans/vision/mission, works to ensure equitable and diverse access and participation across UC, CSU and other partner sites. Establishes methods and techniques and is responsible for measuring engagement data and refining initiative direction based on findings. Expert knowledge in subject matter and program. Serves as subject matter expert and mentor to other educators.

Required:
 
Ten years of experience in teacher professional training, curriculum development, or equivalent work in the environmental education or related fields.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Continuing education in related field required.
Expert knowledge of adult learning methods in the teacher education field Expert analytical skills to research, develop, and deliver programs that support the dissemination of environmental education professional development and curriculum Proven experience in delivering and presenting high level educational programs Expert knowledge of current and emerging educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning practices. Expert ability to facilitate educational technology opportunities using technology-based solutions. Proven experience and in-depth knowledge as a practitioner in the field of environmental education or related area. Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly developed skills and expertise in organizational and project management. Leads and coordinates teams and directs projects from inception to completion on schedule. Excellent personal organization skills.
 
Preferred:
 
Advanced graduate degree in related area preferred.
