Position Summary:
 
The Office of Data and Information Technology (ODIT) and the Office of Information Technology is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education and community service goals of the University. The Business Services Division within the Office of Information Technology oversees human resources and personnel management, facilities and space management, low and high value purchases, and provides administrative support to more than 420+ staff and students in support of UCI’s mission.
 
Under supervision of the Director, OIT Human Resources, the IT Talent Representative uses professional employment and staffing techniques and concepts for employment, sourcing programs, and policies for the organization. Employment and search efforts are of moderate scope and complexity. Works on staffing / employment for skilled operational and technical and professional level positions. Normally receives general direction on staffing and employment assignments, with more detailed direction provided on new or more specialized and complex assignments. Exercises judgment within defined staffing and employment procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Works with internal and external contacts.

Required:
 
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in staffing/recruiting operations.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as active listening and critical thinking skills. Working knowledge of the recruitment, screening, interviewing and referral processes. Demonstrated analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations. Manages sensitive and confidential information and effectively and collaboratively interacts with client groups. Adhere to OIT’s cultural values: Collaboration, Respect, Trust, Transparency, Quality, Inclusiveness, Customer Centricity, and Learning and Growth. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
 
Preferred:
 
Knowledge of HR processes and forms and knows organizational and departmental principles and procedures. Demonstrated abilities associated with problem identification; reasoning; ability to work with business units in the development of ideas to solve staffing issues. Working knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas. Basic knowledge of employment law. Knowledge of common software used within employment and other areas of HR, and how they work together.
 
Special Conditions Required:
 
Must pass background check. May be required to work overtime, as needed.
