Position Summary:
Under the supervision of physician or clinic supervisor, the medical assistant will perform a variety of tasks for the UCI Center for Occupational Health. Excellent communication skills and customer service skills are essential. Primary MA duties include registering clinic patients, maintaining records, preparing reports, updating patient files and assisting with patient flow during clinic hours. Perform clinical duties including spirometry, audiometry, vision testing; specimen collection; recording patient data; administrating injections, and bronchodilator. Assist with patient billing including maintaining excel Encounter/Billing Log, prepare billing invoices for contractor and insurance patients, prepare and submit deposits. This position provides coverage for the back office and front office/reception which can vary based on clinic needs. Teamwork is valued in this office.
Compensation Range:
$22.87 - $25.25
Ability to prepare patients for resting and treadmill EKGs. Ability to obtain patient vital signs. Vision testing experience. Active BLS certificate required. Ability to travel to offsite visits. Data entry ability. Immunization protocols. Must have Medical Assistant certificate/license. Knowledge of insurances. Ability to take spirometry readings. Must comply with JCAHO requirements regarding TB/ABP varies screenings. Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Assistant duties.
Work Comp experience. Previous clinical support/receptionist experience.
