Position Summary:
 
UCI MIND is an Organized Research Unit focusing on basic and clinical research in the fields of brain aging and cognitive disorders. Our mission is to discover means to improve the lives of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. UCI MIND is committed to community education with the goals of keeping the community informed of our progress, sharing learnings that can help community members reduce their risk for dementia.
 
Working under general supervision in the Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders Brain Bank, the incumbent will perform procedures in support of ongoing research activities in a laboratory setting. Responsibilities are related to daily activities of the brain bank and include the following: process biospecimens, prepare stock solutions, prepare tissue shipments, order supplies and maintain specimen inventory.
 
Compensation Range:
 
$19.02 - $22.05

Previous laboratory experience.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in scientific field.
Basic or high level computer skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Previous laboratory experience. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in scientific field.

 
Special Conditions Required:
 
Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
