As part of the Provost’s Office team, we create policy and resources that enable our faculty to focus on their innovative research, teaching and service responsibilities. A key element of UCI’s strategic plan is to increase our research and teaching capacity to improve lives by adding an additional 250 faculty over the next several years. The Office of Academic Personnel is critical to the UCI’s success in achieving its goal to achieve Growth That Makes A Difference. NOTE: This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with some days on-site in Irvine and some days remote. Full-time remote may also be considered for individuals not local to southern California.

This position uses advanced skills and knowledge of UC System wide and / or organization academic HR policies and programs to address strategic academic personnel issues and to resolve complex issues and situations. Normally receiving little direction on assignments, the qualified individual will serve in a lead capacity for academic compensation, providing guidance, training, and direction to the campus, other academic HR, or affiliated unit staff members.

Compensation Range:
 
$87,200 - $106,300, commensurate with experience

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and manage projects at this level.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing work assignments and meet deadlines.
Requires advanced knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret systemwide, organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR.
Advanced knowledge of systemwide and organization policies, union contracts, procedures and practices that govern academic HR administration.
Demonstrated highly effective written and verbal communication skills in order to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with diverse client groups, other areas of human resources, and members of the organization's management.
Advanced knowledge of other areas of human resources and advanced business systems knowledge at this level.
Ability to analyze complex management issues, develop project scope and solutions, give professional advice to senior officials and make critical decisions regarding personnel.
Advanced interpersonal skills to interact with client groups and other areas of human resources as well as to understand and present how compensation can address and support business needs and objectives.
