Position Summary:
 
The Paul Merage School of business supports 2,500 faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students across 2+ buildings. The spaces include 8 dual-delivery (in-person and remote audience synchronously) classrooms, an auditorium, 9 conference rooms, 2 multi-purpose spaces, 22 team study rooms, and 2 outdoor spaces that contain integrated audio/visual technologies for instruction, team functions, collaboration, and events. The Merage School utilizes Microsoft Azure for cloud-based server computing in addition to operating local servers within a secured high-availability datacenter that provides 24/7 uptime. Merage School faculty and staff operate both on-site and remotely as part of UCI’s Work Reimagined program.
 
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Computing Support, employee will work as part of a small and flexible team supporting up to two thousand students, staff and faculty during day, evening and weekend shifts. Incumbent will have independent responsibility to ensure all requests are completed within an appropriate amount of time as specified by the professor or staff member. Incumbent is responsible for multiple functions and services involving instructional and research support and can choose to distribute tasks to assigned students assistants to ensure all duties and projects are completed on schedule, with the incumbent responsible for the quality of the work produced. Incumbent will be required to perform assignments which require technical and professional knowledge as related to Information Technology and common business practices. This position is 100% onsite.

Skill to work with others to resolve issues of mutual concern, complete projects, share expertise, and lend support in order to ensure achievement of the highest level of customer service and operational efficiency. Skill in critical thinking to systematically analyze problems, identify the cause, and propose solutions. Skill to work with and effectively communicate with a wide range of people, both orally and in writing. Skill to work independently and follow through on tasks without close supervision. Demonstrated skill to use office automation software (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Skill to explain technical material to people at a variety of levels of sophistication, both orally and in writing. Skill to learn new material quickly.
 
Preferred:
 
Experience with a trouble ticketing system and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
