Position Summary: 
Incumbent is responsible for the clinical aspect of patient care including phone and walk-in triage. Assists with procedures, patient education and outpatient discharge follow-up. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.

Salary Range: 
 
Hourly Rate  Minimum   $56.01                  Midpoint              $66.45               Maximum $76.89
 
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, and practice of infection control techniques
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills
Current California RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Minimum of 6 months demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
Experience in circulating and monitoring for patients in plastic surgery procedures
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
Experience and competency in working with patients under conscious sedation
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
