Position Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for the overall management and fiscal oversight of the Ambulatory Clinics throughout UCI Health. In coordination with the Executive Director, Ambulatory Care and Physician Chairs, plans, organizes, directs, and manages the administrative and business operations of the ambulatory clinics, ensuring compliance with budgets, policy, and patient satisfaction standards. This position creates an administrative single-point-of-contact reporting to executive leadership and works with the many stakeholders engaged in clinical care and business operations. Incumbent is responsible for leading, implementing and executing the service line strategy and delivery/service model for UCI Health's designated Service Line operations across the entire delivery system. This includes but is not limited to the creation of a service line strategic plan, operating plan and implementation of the work activities to meet the goals and objectives of the plan. Responsible for program development with key stakeholders, growing market share, clinical integration and collaboration, operational performance, driving operational efficiencies, establishing annual volume, financial, service and quality goals for areas of responsibility. The position assumes the responsibility for all aspects of business conducted within the Orthopedic/Neurosciences Service Line; understands, monitors and improves the financial performance of the service line; oversees the operational and quality components; manages the implementation of programs; evaluates programs effectiveness and ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations. Leads the design & deployment of system-wide five-year service line strategy and operating model across all sites of service, mindful of consumer, payer and provider market trends, financial aspects, access, operations and quality goals to improve strategic, operational and financial growth. Leads the development of a service line physician strategy to inform Department recruitment. Collaborates with clinical quality leads across the continuum of care. Collaborates with the Department Chairs, Medical Directors and other key physician leaders as well as operational leadership to assure strong program health and development, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of service line operations, and aligning initiatives in keeping with both SOM and clinical enterprise objectives to advance the tri-partite mission.

Salary Range:
Annual Rate Minimum $151,100.00 Midpoint $261,000.00 Maximum $370,900.00
Required Qualifications:
Excellent understanding of healthcare finance, financial and analytical skills and ability to develop financial models using Excel, Access or other applications
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the UC Irvine Health Affairs and work effectively with diverse stakeholders, especially physicians
Ability to work autonomously and use independent sound judgment
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and change management principles
Ten (10) years of progressively responsible work experience in a leadership position in a medical practice setting, healthcare administration or closely related field.
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Excellent strategic planning skills to develop long and short range goals and objectives
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Ability to accomplish results and effectively integrate functions with business plans. Consistently demonstrates and encourages a commitment to quality, customer-centeredness, productivity and continuous improvement
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, including planning, setting priorities, systematic performance assessment, implementation based on such assessment and maintaining achieved improvement
Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
Membership in MGMA or ACHE and ACMPE certification
Experience in an academic medical center environment
Prior leadership experience in Nuero, Ortho, Spine, Pain Management or Physical Medicine.
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
