Position Summary:
 
The UCI Paul Merage School of Business offers three dynamic MBA programs – plus PhD, specialty masters and undergraduate business degrees – that prepare business leaders for our digitally driven world. Through our programs, students acquire the exceptional ability to grow their organizations through strategic innovation, analytical decision-making, digital information technology and collaborative execution. While the Merage School is relatively young, it has quickly grown to rank consistently among the top five percent of all business programs worldwide through exceptional student recruitment, world-class faculty, a strong alumni network and close relationships with both individual business executives and global corporations. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Computing Support, incumbent will work as part of a small and flexible team supporting up to two thousand students, staff and faculty during day, evening and weekend shifts. Incumbent will have independent responsibility to ensure all requests are completed within an appropriate amount of time as specified by the professor or staff member. Incumbent is responsible for multiple functions and services involving instructional and research support and can choose to distribute tasks to assigned student assistants to ensure all duties and projects are completed on schedule, with the incumbent responsible for the quality of the work produced. Incumbent will be required to perform assignments which require technical and professional knowledge as related to Information Technology and common business practices.

$26.14 - $26.14 (Hourly Rate) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $26.14 - $37.46 (Hourly Rate)
 
 
Required:
 
With a demonstrated customer service focus and solution-oriented approach, skill to work with and effectively communicate (both orally and in writing) with diverse groups (including faculty, staff and students) to ensure that requests are addressed in a timely manner. Skill to work independently and follow through on tasks without close supervision. Skill in critical thinking to systematically analyze problems, identify the cause, and propose solutions. Skill to explain technical material to people at a variety of levels of sophistication, both orally and in writing. Skill to learn new material quickly. Skill to work with others to resolve issues of mutual concern, complete projects, share expertise, and lend support in order to ensure achievement of the highest level of customer service and operational efficiency. Demonstrated skill to use office automation software (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
 
Preferred:
 
Experience with a trouble ticketing system and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
