Position Summary:
UC Irvine’s Business Transformation Office (BTO) oversees and coordinates multi-unit projects to modernize our business processes and improve workflow, often through the development of new enabling technology in the following ways. • Ensure UCI Campus Projects are initiated with methods to track, and report return on investment, strategic value, budget, scope, schedule, and measurements of success. • Develop and maintain standardized project management processes that facilitate excellent project outcomes. • Ensure that large, complex, multi-organizational initiatives move forward with dedicated resources and central coordination. • Deploy a centralized and proven way to drive innovation and re-engineer business processes and support organizational change.
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Senior Project Manager applies advanced technical project management frameworks and methods and campus, or Office of the President objectives to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Determines methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Manages projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget and / or project team size, with considerable impact to the organization. Responsible for the project plan, project schedule, budget, scope, status, requirements analysis, and issue management of the development and implementation of assigned projects. Additionally, as member of UCIs Business Transformation Office (BTO), the candidate will help shape how the BTO serves the campus.

$100,600.00 - $140,000.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $100,600.00 - $190,800.00 (Annual Salary)
Required:
Five (5) to ten (10) years relevant experience with BA/BS in related field, or three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience with MA/MS in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Project Management in an IT environment.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
High proficiency using Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, ServiceNow, Wiki, or other similar tools to create and update project schedules including dependencies, critical path, resources, estimates, budgets, etc. Intermediate to advanced skills in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio. Strong experience managing multiple projects or large enterprise project with complex interdependencies. Strong ability to facilitating meetings with cross-functional (technical and business users) teams. Experience executing various Software/System Development Life Cycle processes (SDLC) including Waterfall and scrum-agile project management methodologies and techniques. Experience with requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management. Solid understanding of business or technical process changes, implementations, and deployments. Analytical ability sufficient to understand user requirements and translate them into technical terms to develop quantitative status reports and identify and quantify issues and risks. Excellent interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with a broad range of personnel at all levels across the campus and with varying level of technical knowledge and/or project management concepts. Oral communication and presentation skills sufficient to explain business needs to technical stakeholders and technical information to business stakeholders. Proficient and effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create realistic project plans and timelines and present them in a group setting. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with stakeholders at all levels, including external vendors, technical staff across all functions, and executive management. Effective collaborator with a proven track record of building concensus and resolving conflicts across a large distributed organization. Ability to work independently within guidelines and under minimal supervision. Working knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives. Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies. Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks. Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques. Demonstrated ability to integrate critical information across disciplines. Understands how projects relate to other business strategies and initiatives.
Preferred:
PMP Professional certification preferred.
Special Conditions Required:
Must pass a background check. Eligible for remote work but will need to come to campus on an as needed basis.
