Position Summary: 

The Operating Room Nurse uses the nursing process, to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care that meets the identified needs of patients having operative procedures.  May act as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures.  Acts as a role model to nursing students, and new nurses to the unit. Functions as a Pt. Care Coordinator as requested. Salary Range: 

Hourly Rate  Minimum   $56.01                  Midpoint   $66.45               Maximum $76.89

Required Qualifications:

 Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties

All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, and practice of infection control techniques, body mechanics and age related acuity levels

Minimum of six months recent nursing experience working in an acute-care perioperative environment

Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Licenses and Certifications:

Basic Life Support(Required)

Registered Nurse(Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

BSN and CNOR

Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families

Demonstrated experience working in a Level I Trauma Center
