Position Summary:
The UC Irvine School of Medicine Department of Physiology & Biophysics is dedicated to conducting innovative, cutting-edge research, engaging in high-level service and providing excellent educational opportunities and mentoring to students, postdoctoral fellows and researchers in the discipline of physiology and biophysics. We are a vibrant community of scientific investigators actively engaged in innovative research, discovery, training, and teaching in Physiology and Biophysics. We provide faculty research, training programs for undergraduate and graduate students and outreach functions as part of the mission of UC Irvine's School of Medicine.
Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer the incumbent is responsible for the management of assigned federal and private contracts and grants including reconciliation, financial reporting, analysis, and consultation with the PI and/or CAO. Under direction, the incumbent is responsible for the accounting, reporting, projection, and budgeting of all assigned funds including assigned discretionary and faculty set-up accounts, prepare recommendations including annual resource allocations, future requirements, and operating forecasts. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring compliance with University and agency policies and procedures for expenditures and controls. The incumbent is responsible for other general administrative support and/or projects assigned by CAO

$26.92 - $46.36 (Hourly Rate)
Required:
• Working knowledge of finance and budget management practices. • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Bachelor’s degree in related area and or equivalent work experience and training
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines on a variety of projects. Analyze, interpret and complete assignments on time. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, and the general public Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, peers, other UCI departments or divisions, and the general public. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Demonstrated ability to utilize available resources Working knowledge of finance policies, budget management practices Skill to perform work independently, organize and prioritize diverse workload, and follow through on assignments.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of UCI accounting principles and procedures and UCI accounting documents and online financial systems Working knowledge of Federal granting agencies' policies Working knowledge of UC purchasing and reimbursement systems and policies and procedures.
