Qualifications       

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the operating room. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development over the life span. Speaks, reads and writes English.

Licensure / Certification                                  

ORT certificate preferred, CPR         

Education and Experience 

Graduate of a formal OR tech. training program preferred. At least 2 years’ experience in an acute care OR preferred.                                  

Position Summary                                                                                                    

Prepares the operating rooms for surgery using appropriate techniques. Provides technical services and assists in the operating room as assigned or directed. Overseen by the charge nurse of the operating room. Reports directly to the Director of Surgical Services.
