Position Summary:

The academic programs that the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing offers include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Science, a Master of Science in Nursing Science, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nursing Science.
 
Independently manage all aspects of senate, non-senate, research, and staff personnel actions for the School of Nursing. Responsible for managing and facilitating all employment requests to Health Science HR related to employee level changes to include recruitments, appointments, equity, reclassifications, leaves of absences, etc. The position will also have oversight of the school’s academic affairs function, acting as the content expert and advising school leadership on academic practices, policies, and procedures.
 
Compensation Range:
 
Annually: $66,300.00 - $96,900.00

Required:
 
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Requires thorough knowledge of and ability to apply/interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR.
Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, risk management planning, payroll, and space planning.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
Thorough knowledge of systemwide and organization policies, union contracts, procedures and practices that govern academic HR administration.
Excellent critical and innovative thinking to address moderately complex issues and present nuanced analyses.
 
Preferred:
 
5-8 years of relevant experience in academic personnel within UCI.
Master’s degree in related area.
Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
