Position Summary:
 
The Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation (DTEI) is dedicated to partnering and fostering community with faculty, graduate students, and postdocs to maximize students’ academic success through inclusive excellence. We accomplish this by cultivating equitable learning environments across campus through pedagogical development opportunities focused on integrating innovative, evidence-based, and inclusive teaching practices. The Collaboratory for Data Analytics for Student Success (CODAS) brings together leaders from across UCI, including the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning, the School of Education, and numerous other disciplines. We aim to support researchers and educators in the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data towards a common mission of ensuring equitable student success and creating more diverse and inclusive institutions of higher education.
 
Under direction of the Associate Dean for the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation (DTEI), and in close collaboration with the Enterprise Student Management Systems Team from the Office of information Technology (OIT), the incumbent is responsible for the project management, development, implementation, maintenance and documentation of extract-transform-load (ETL) processes, data quality tests, and operational data stores to build out integrations of the campus Learning Management System (LMS) and related Enterprise Student Data Management Systems across campus. This data infrastructure incorporates operational and transactional data from a wide variety of internal campus sources as well as external sources. The specific role of the Senior Data Integration Developer is to support projects of the Collaboratory for Data Analytics for Student Success unit, which is housed under DTEI.
 
Compensation Range:
 
Annually: $86,900.00 - $125,000.00

Required:
 
5+ years’ experience developing complex data integrations.
5+ plus years with BA/BS OR three (3) to five (5) years with MA/MS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to prepare complex data models unassisted.
Ability to understand and model complex knowledge-intensive processes such as scholarly and research processes. Experience in data integration and the specification of data services.
Proven modeling and information design skills.
Familiarity with highly complex data quality and governance issues and requirements.
Advanced knowledge of data management systems, practices, and standards.
Thorough knowledge of relevant rules and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated service orientation skills. Good negotiation and influencing skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Advanced analytical and design skills, including the ability to abstract information requirements from real-world processes to understand information flows in computer systems.
Expert knowledge and 5+ years working experience with Informatica PowerCenter In depth experience with SQL programming and relational database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or DB2.
Experience working in higher education, especially with student, employee, research administration and financial data.
 
Preferred:
 
Experience working with COBOL files.
