Position Summary:
Research Engagement & Compliance (REC) is a team within the Office of Research that provides oversight, resources, training, and education for the following research compliance issues: • Conflict of Interest • Export Controls • Undue Foreign Influence • Research Funding Classification • Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC) • Cannabis Research • Sponsored Research IT Security
We are looking for innovative, driven, creative, solutions-focused, collaborative, analytical individuals who will help develop our existing programs, respond to new emerging research compliance areas, and join our great growing team. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced research compliance professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organization policies / procedures to apply federal, state, and university regulations, policies, and guidelines, and promote best practices. Interacts frequently with investigators, persons in other organizational departments, and occasionally persons outside the University. Interactions require the use of tact and independent judgment, knowledge of standards and best practices, and counseling to resolve a wide range of research compliance issues involving sensitive and confidential information. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Errors or omissions may ultimately compromise the institution's standing with the federal government, and put the institution at risk for investigations, fines, losing existing or new federal funding, and/or significant reputational harm. NOTE: This is primarily a remote position. Infrequently, this position may need, or be required, to work on campus.
Compensation Range:
$66,300.00 - $81,600.00

Required:
5 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an academic environment.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Demonstrated proficiency in public speaking, and writing.
Demonstrated self-discipline and sound, independent judgment completing complex assignments.
Thorough knowledge and ability to apply all relevant Federal, state, and university regulations, policies, and federal guidance documents.
Thorough knowledge and experience with quantitative and qualitative research design; scientific research concepts and terminology.
Preferred:
Conflict of Interest: Understanding of stock options, consulting agreements and other corporate documents related to research and analysis of potential conflicts of interest.
