The WorkStrong Program Director leads a large team of professionals to assist Worker’s Compensation Employees decrease health risks by engaging in physical activity and healthy dietary practices. Develops long term plans to build and maintain program success. Coordinates appointments and ensures that clients follow the program, helping them overcome obstacles and setting the stage for their long term success once the program is completed. Meets for strategic planning of program development and provides summary records of program success to UC Office of the President, Human Resources/Workers Compensation, Occupational Health Doctors, and other campus and medical center departments. The success of the program depends on the management of two large budgets and program locations (Main Campus ARC and Medical Center Fitness Facility).

$44,500.00 - $65,000.00

Five years successive experience in recreation, wellness or related field. May include Master's experience.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Red Cross CPR required. Standard First Aid Training Certification required.
Personal Training certification from a nationally accredited institution such as ACSM or NSCA and AFAA or ACE.
Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science or related field. Five years successive experience in recreation, wellness or related field. May include Master's experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with administrators, faculty, staff and affiliates as well as members from a diverse socioeconomic, ethnic, and educational community.
Three years of experience in Human Resources, Worker’s Compensation, and Safety and Risk Management procedures in a university setting.
Broad knowledge in all areas of wellness or related field.
Leadership skills to interpret current trends and directions and be able to apply those appropriately to the University.
Strong organizational skill and ability to be detail oriented.
Skill to develop appropriate policies and procedures that coordinate within the overall goals of the Anteater Recreation Center, UCOP, County of Orange and the WorkStrong Program.
Ability to make informative presentations to large and/or small audiences of varied interest on Fitness and Wellness subjects.
Demonstrated ability to hire, train and evaluate full and part time staff.
Ability to initiate and contribute to collaborative programming across related campus departments.
Meticulous diligence of the WorkStrong environment. This involves training staff in keeping a friendly, respectful, organized and clean work out environment.
