The Counseling Center support our student population with specialize mental health services, research coordination, alcohol, and other drug (AOD) issues, and/or eating disorders (ED). Conduct initial assessments, time limited individual, couples, and group psychotherapy; urgent care services; crisis response; consultation and outreach in a university counseling center.
 
The emphasis of this position is on direct services to students as a generalist counseling psychologist and may specialize in services including but not limited to first generation college students, and underrepresented students. Conduct initial assessments, time limited individual, couple and group psychotherapy; urgent care services; crisis response; consultation and outreach in a university counseling center. Provide supervision and training within an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited psychology doctoral internship.
 
 
Compensation Range:  $46.10/hr. - $55.09/hr.

Required:
  • Licensed as a psychologist in California (or license-eligible in California)
  • Three post-licensure years of clinical/counseling experience in the field of psychology
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship
  • Demonstrated experience in group psychotherapy including, couples and families
  • Strong student service orientation
  • Training and experience in time limited psychotherapy, crisis response, substance/alcohol difficulties, domestic/intimate-partner violence with diverse clients
  • Demonstrated experience and interest in working with university students from multicultural backgrounds
  • General knowledge of psychological assessment
  • Ability to collaborate with the Campus Community consisting of Faculty, Staff, and Students
  • Supervision experience with psychology doctoral interns, preferably in an APA accredited program
  • Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Extensive consultation and outreach experience, program development and evaluation including training faculty, staff and students
 
Preferred:
  • Interest in the integration of research and technology in psychological practice
  • Demonstrated experience working with Electronic Medical Records
  • Five post-licensure years of clinical/counseling experience in the field of psychology
  • Interest in the application and integration of social justice in counseling center work
 
Special Conditions Required:
 
Although this position's schedule is M-F and during traditional work hours, weekends or non-traditional work hours may be required for special projects or busy times of the year, or when strict deadlines must be met. Hiring is contingent upon verification of licensure and successful completion of credentialing background check.
