Position Summary:
 
UCI Urology seeks to provide all patients with the best in innovative urological diagnosis and treatment. We focus on treating the whole patient and not just the symptoms, with an ultimate goal of effective and personally tailored healthcare.
 
The Executive Assistant provides executive level administrative and decision-making support to the Chair / Director of Ablative Oncology Center and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) in the Department of Urology. Also oversees daily and long-range activities for the Chair and CAO. The incumbent will serve as the Summer Surgery Program Administrative Coordinator and will manage the planning, operations, finances, and volunteers for the program. In addition, departmental special events will be managed by this individual. The incumbent must use independent judgment and have a high level of organizational skills as this position, under general supervision, handles sensitive and confidential executive level correspondence, agreements, and special projects including patient care, teaching, and research. The incumbent must possess an experienced level of administrative and communication skills, and must have a keen awareness of organizational politics, tact and diplomacy. Must be available to work occasional weekends and after hours.
 
Compensation Range:
 
$53,500 - $78,600

Required:
 
2-4 years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Working knowledge of the organization's processes and procedures, rules and regulations. Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs. Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others. Skills to evaluate issues and identify resolutions. Strong service orientation with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills and the ability to compose business correspondences / documents, letters, memoranda, and other documents using word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
 
Preferred:
 
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, academic clinical environment while maintaining a calm and professional manner at all times, in addition to an ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of campus and hospital administration, faculty, staff, patients, and the public. Experience coordinating formal special events and working with vendors.
 
Special Conditions Required:
 
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends occasionally.
