Position Summary:

The Law School Registrar’s Office provides accurate academic records and policy information to faculty, students, staff, alumni, central administration, and external constituencies.
The Assistant Registrar provides support to the Law School’s Registrar. The Assistant Registrar manages confidential and sensitive student information and develops and presents options for creating or changing procedures. Gathers data from a variety of sources, analyzes, and evaluates data and prepares detailed information. Applies professional Registrar student service-based concepts to student record functions. Provides information and enforcement of institutional, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations. Independently manages a variety of projects as assigned and receives direction regarding more complex programs. Assists in developing and implementing registrar core functions such as classroom and course scheduling, exam administration degree audits, implementation of disability accommodations, transcript activities, residency, and grading.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Working knowledge of University policies, processes, and procedures and of Federal and California laws pertaining to the privacy rights of students and access to student information. Working knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and productivity software. Written and verbal communication skills. Active listening skills. Customer service orientation. Interpersonal skills. Ability to work with people from diverse cultures. Utilizes excellent constituent service skills with all interactions. Problem identification and critical thinking skills. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with campus departments. Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Ability to apply working knowledge of policies to individual situations in a diverse learning community. Knowledge of specialized registrar core functions (e.g., degree requirements, special enrollment, veterans' benefits, and residency). Working knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices with student records services.
Preferred:
Experience using complex databases.
