Position Summary: 
Under the direction of the Biomedical Engineering Supervisor, Imaging Engineer works as a modality specific technical specialist/leader performing a variety of routine/broad scope to high complexity level technical tasks associated with the installation, clinical configuration, integration, and maintenance of a diverse range of Radiology and Ultrasound modality specific imaging systems. The Imaging Engineer performs scheduled maintenance on said imaging systems using specialized test equipment, assists in the support of a systematic preventative maintenance program of Medical Imaging Instrumentation and documents the introduction of new therapeutic and diagnostic imaging equipment, corrective and preventive maintenance actions and special requests as required. The Imaging Engineer will provide consultative and collaborative services, when required or asked, to Clinical and Technology leaders of the various imaging and IT departments by analyzing changing technical requirements, clinical needs, processes, and procedures for the development of maintenance programs on a variety of Diagnostic imaging systems. In discharging these responsibilities, the Imaging Engineer must be acutely aware of and adhere to all defined clinical workflows The Imaging Engineer will provide technical/functional assistance to imaging technology users.
 
 
Salary Range:
 
Annual Rate  Minimum  $74,000.00                   Midpoint           $108,500.00                   Maximum             $143,000.00
 
Required Qualifications:

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Must be able to differentiate variations in color
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
6+ Years of current related experience
Experience working on Diagnostic Imaging and Ultrasound Devices
Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging clinical image operations, clinical image management software and systems, regulations, processes, and best practices for storing, retrieving, and transferring medical images in clinical care.
Medical Knowledge or equivalent advanced clinical experience, able to communicate with Radiologists, Researchers, Physicists, and OEM Scientists as a peer.
Advanced knowledge of electronics, including solid state technology, linear, analog and digital Integrated circuit operation. Stays current on regulations, advances, and trends in the field of clinical imaging and makes proposals to management for complex solutions and/or advancements.
Strong knowledge of imaging safety and performance based on national codes, manufacturing practices and institutional requirements.
Broader knowledge of laws and regulation pertaining to imaging equipment and radiation safety and protection practices.
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related area or equivelant experience
Knowledge of or advanced training/experience in clinically related area
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
